SurferMates was developed by a traveling surfer; who would quite often travel several hours to surf a specific break only to find that the surfer next to them in the car park actually lived either near to them or on the way to the destination break.
The primary idea behind this site is to bring surfers together to help make friends with other surfers in their local area, share rides, save fuel and money whilst reducing our impact on the environment when travelling.
As surfers we understand some of the issues of offering people lifts to the beach and hope that by helping you to find other surfers in your area of similar ability and similar preferences in their surfing we can enhance your surfing experience.
If you live on the coast near a popular surfing destination it is likely that you have SurferMates already but we hope can put you in touch with other like-minded individuals. If you live far away from the coast we can find surfers near to you to travel with, surf with or even just chat to about surfing. Were hoping in the near future to organise social events for our members to bring some of that surfing lifestyle to a city near you!
